Coventry Citizens Advice
Councillor Faye Abbott
Trustee

I have been on the board of trustees of Coventry Citizens Advice for four years and I have been a councillor since 2010. I am self employed and a consultant, most recently for the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner. I worked as the Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner and also served on the Board. I am the chair of trustees for the Feeding Coventry Charity and a trustee for Culture Coventry.

I am the cabinet member for Adult Social services for Coventry City Council and I have also served as chair for a number of scrutiny boards including Streets and Neighbourhoods, and Children’s Services. My First cabinet position was Community Development, cooperatives and social enterprises. I worked hard with colleagues to make Coventry a social enterprise city. I set up the original steering group for City of Culture and investigated the opportunities and options for the City, I am exceptionally proud that Coventry has won City Of Culture 2021 which has been down to the collaboration across all sectors in the City and has been driven by a team of exceptionally talented and hardworking individuals from all sectors, public, private and third sector.

I am also mum to one daughter, I enjoy reading, music and films and I like to swim, although I don’t go as often as I should.
